Hotel is very nice. The staff are friendly and helpful. The only problem is its proximity to the airport. If you’re an early riser it will not be a problem but if you like to sleep past 7:00 AM it could be an issue for some. That being said the place is unique enough that for me it was a small inconvenience and will not stop me from recommending it to my family and friends. As there are only eighteen units the pool and hot tub were never crowded. Love Beach access is at the west end of the property through a fence that is locked at night. There were very few people on this ½ mile long beach when we were there.

Picturesque, but some Issues
Pros: -I've never seen a more beautiful resort. The multi-color rooms are stunning and the grounds are perfectly kept. The interior of the huts are just the right mix of comfort and charm - they're well air conditioned, but you can still hear the waves crashing at night. -Excellent snorkeling. -The location is perfect - it's about a half hour drive to downtown Nassau, 15 minutes to the airport, and if you're a diver, just 15 minutes to Stuart Cove's dive shop. -The hotel restaurant serves up excellent Bahamian food. Cons: -The hotel staff is inattentive and grumpy. We arrived slightly early for check-in and the frowning member of the staff told us we could "wait by the pool area, I guess" - not exactly a warm welcome to paradise. Restaurant staff frequently disappeared and had to be told orders multiple times before food would arrive. -The hotel is not on the beach. In order to reach Love Beach, you need to walk behind one of the huts, past a neighbor's private house, down a treacherous staircase, and through the tide to reach it. It's better than no beach access at all but getting there is quite the experience. -The rooms, bar, and food are really expensive for what you get. -You do get incoming plane traffic at all hours of the day. This didn't bother me too much, but I could see it annoying some. Overall, I'd return for dinner and the beautiful view of the resort at sunset, but I don't think I'd stay at the hotel again.

Fantastic getaway spot
Absolutely incredible getaway at this resort. We wanted to be right on the beach, away from the crowds, somewhere secluded and quiet, and we got just that. The hut was clean, with all the amenities we needed, and right on the water. The beach was a 2 minute walk away. The service was fantastic. The food at the restaurant was good. Not many vegetarian options, but they were very flexible and willing to accommodate. We did go to downtown by cab, which was $27 each way. We also made the trip out to Paradise Island, and were thankful we didn't choose to stay at Atlantis. The only negative was that as a runner I couldn't find too many places to run. There are no sidewalks on the road outside of the resort, so it can get hairy with the traffic.

Out of town
If all you want to do is hang out at the beach or the pool this is the hotel for you. If you want to be more in the fast life, not for you. Taxi can get expensive. About $25 one way or you take the bus for $1.50. The staff is very friendly.

Wonderful, Relaxing -- Not a Typical Resort
We had a lovely, very relaxing vacation at Compass Point. It is small and there is no glitz, which is exactly what we were looking for. Our studio cottage had a beautiful ocean view and we spent hours reading on our shaded front porch. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the restaurant is very good, albeit slight expensive (as is all the food on the island), and the overall ambience is low key and relaxing. The beach is small, but guests can walk over the owner's patio next door to a much larger beach. There is live music a couple of nights each week. We will definitely go back!
