Not quite what it used to be.
Last visited the Hyatt B/Ham some 15 years ago. Since then little has changed. Decor has had a per-functionary update. Rooms are spacious and clean. Amenities include a very welcome iron and ironing board but alas no trouser press. Negatives: Control of the air-con was an absolute mystery with no instructions and is shockingly loud. The minibar has to be ordered. A Kettle is provided but, no coffee machine. First hotel I've stayed in for a good while where there is no coffee machine. Room service menu is by app only and is limited to the Hotel fare. And most contentiously. The drop off situation is a god awful mess. I know how challenging parking in B/Ham is. But the Hotel promises the opportunity to drop off and then park at a Qpark if on-site parking is not available. This was not possible. Cars were double and triple parked at the entrance making entering the drop off impossible. It was literally impossible to turn off the road into the hotel entrance. I've never witnessed anything so anarchic at a hotel entrance. We had to move on to avoid blocking traffic and then after trying again, abandon dropping off and made multiple trips across Brindley Place. The next morning the same cars were still blocking the hotel entrance, like a scene from a dystopian horror movie, or war torn Mogadishu. How are Hyatt satisfied with this? Not a good check in impression or experience Hyatt. No one to greet us either.

The spa was really tired looking and poorly branded. The staff were un-interested and gave a poor welcome to the stay. The spa failed to provide a calm and quiet experience. The therapist was good and provided a good treatment but the rest of the spa was disappointing for a Hyatt hotel.
