Little to no hot water during night time, caused huge inconvenience and discomfort to our night

poor quality
This night was the ending to our 25th Anniversary 2 week vacation. It was supposed to be the cherry on top. I've always wanted to stay here and experience the luxury and there was no luxury to it. The room and shower was very outdated and no where near worth the money. Then on top of that spending another $25 each for the extras which were far a few because of weather. The games in that gym looking room reminded me of a teen age hang out behind a bowling alley or something. (very strange) The biggest disappointment was we arrived at check in time and felt bored out of our mind so we hung out in the room which felt average to below average and the meals weren't even included at that price. Need less to say it will be our one and only experience there and I wont even think about trying the champagne glass rooms. I'm not going to send another wasted dollar there. I will also let everyone i know that it is not worth the hype or money. The service by the check in counter was good though and this bad review is no reflection on the people working there. It is all about the facility and the lack of luxury I was expecting. I was even going to get a massage and spend money at the bar and restaurant until I saw the room and I lost all excitement really fast.

Fun/Funny Retro Awesomeness
The place is dated, for sure. The buildings appear to be untouched since the decade they were each respectively built. If you have a sense of humor about that, and can have fun with it, then it works. However, the actual condition of the rooms and facilities are quite deteriorated as well. That's a bigger issue. The room was a bit grungy and dilapidated, but hilariously retro just as we expected. We enjoyed the pool (though it had big cracks all over the bottom that had been obviously sealed with white stuff), we had fun with the champagne glass whirlpool. The "celestial ceiling" was a highlight, and there are mirrors EVERYWHERE. When we lit the log in the fire, our whole suite filled with smoke despite having the flue open. We called for an engineer. While he determined the fireplace had just needed to warm up, he also discovered the smoke detector's battery was flat-out dead. How comforting!!... He left us a new one to put in when the smoke finally cleared. As far as the rest of the place, we experienced decent staff. Had fun interactions with food service folks, gift shop cashier, and a tour guide. Had lukewarm encounters with front desk, bartender, and another gift shop cashier. The outdoor activities are humble and unkempt - don't expect too much out of that. Indoor activities similar, but fun. Lastly, while we didn't indulge in any, we felt that the prices for "extras" were reasonable: from the adult beverages to souvenirs like getting your photo on a keychain, etc.
