The room was really small but very charming. Do not stay at room # 8 as the kitchen commercial fan starts going at 6:30 am right underneath and it is impossible to sleep after it does!

Nice hotel on a budget.
Chose this hotel because of cost and location to the tube. Overall we were pleased with our stay. This hotel is nice if you're looking for an inexpensive stay in decent accommodations that's convenient to the tube and a few nice pubs. Certainly not a five star experience, but the facility was adequate for the price. The room was quiet and dark. The showers were hot with great pressure. Breakfast was nice for continental. Housekeeping was good and the staff were accommodating whenever we had any questions or needs. If I was to be picky I would say the room was small and the beds a bit hard. But all in all a positive experience and I would stay here again.

Not worst, not best
Overall it was fine, but not what I expected. Photos on website are of larger rooms while we got a teeny tiny room. It was functional but not exactly pleasant. Breakfast was something of an ordeal, the ladies barking "coffee or tea!? toast - white or brown?!" with no further explanation, meanwhile the constant clatter of dishes. Anyway, it was fine, but we didn't return there on the way back to London.

Acceptable hotel except for the basement room.
This is one of many hotels in the area that were former homes near Kensington Park and have been converted into hotels. The rooms are small. The rooms on the upper floors are preferable. We stayed in a dark musty basement room the first night, then we switched to a third floor room that was much better. The continental breakfast consisting of juice, cereal, canned fruit, rolls, and coffee or tea was fine. Aside from the basement room, this hotel was acceptable.

I would not want to go back
This hotel used to be an old house in a nice neighborhood with 5 floors that was converted into a hotel. When we arrived, we were assigned a room in the basement. We spent the first of our three night stay there. The room was horrible. There was no ventilation, it was musty, and I became sick with an upper respiratory infection for the next 10 days. At my request, they kindly moved us to a different room on the 3rd floor. It was better and at least had a window that opened. It was small, but at least it did not make me sicker. The included continental breakfast included coffee, rolls, cereal, canned fruit, and juice. There was an extra charge for eggs and bacon. Overall, this stay was not a pleasant experience, and I would not want to return to this hotel. The basement room was a zero star experience. The third floor room was two stars at best.
