Quid pro quo.
Empowered front desk capable of making decisions. Missed the ferry the night before & unable to contact either the hotel/reservations which resulted in a no show, and loss of one prepaid night for us. Lady at the reception took put our reservation back on track while we were able to check in & start our Victoria adventure without any further delay. Helas, no credit for missed night, understand business is business. Instead, we were assigned a room that made the stay a great one. Generally, the hotel's restaurant/bar seem to attrack a jolly crowd that's having fun yet without being bothersome to guest. Yes, there is an enticing aroma emanating from the kitchen and will remind you not to skip a meal if not to visit the restaurant to taste for yourself. Hotel, restaurent & bar personnel is most professional and courteous at all times. Probably the most enjoyable stay at Days Inn ever.

Won't go back
We found new flooring but not much else. Room on backside had mold under grout, patches and wall damage, furniture and chairs not level, very small and short toilet, and then the card door lock quit working. The nice desk clerk moved us to the last available room (an upgrade with harbor view) but then we had Friday night with the bar below and singing drunks at 1:30 am. Desk chairs in both rooms don't roll and the elevator was slow and scary. The breakfast we paid for was good but the restaurant allows no changes- a piece of toast instead of potatoes? Really? At least the pool and Jacuzzi were working.

I paid for a harbor view rooms and received a back street view, no water whatsoever. One room had a kitchen in it that was not asked for or needed and so that made the room so much smaller, did not like that. Bathrooms still had hair in them from previous guests and the coffee cups had not been washed out but were set out to use as if they had been. Very disgusting.

Very convenient, clean with a great view!
This hotel is not an over the top luxurious hotel - BUT - it is VERY convenient - it was very clean - the view of the inner harbor is great - it is well worth the price - especially, in the off season - the staff is friendly - they give you a token for breakfast of about $6.00 - which can go towards many selections from $12.00 to $15.00 - all Canadian - BUT - "Watch out!" - the portions are the biggest I have ever seen - the breakfast is enough for the whole day - beautiful breakfasts!!!!!
