Hotel was fine overall. Note there's an "amenity fee" that will be added on top of your charge (per day I think) that for me was around $17.

Pleasant Hotel
Well located. Had a good breakfast in the hotel restaurant. Complimentary wine in the early evening. The night we were there a jazz band played in the lobby. Hotel is old but refurbished. Has retained its charm but, if you are looking for a really modern hotel with a large bathroom, this may not be your place.

Delivered on its Presentation; clean & normal
The hotel delivered on what it presented and expected for its star level, and had this old SF charm to it that was pretty awesome. It’s a standard hotel, the decor was trendy, the room was clean, bed was comfortable. Checkin was super easy. The area isn’t as shady as the Tenderloin, but I wouldn’t wander too Far East at night.

Very good hotel with modernizing potential
Staff are amazing and responsive, and the hotel is doing its best to modernize a very old building by SF standards. They’ve accomplished a lot in that regard, and are still working on more when I was there. Above all they should work on insulating noise between walls, as some units are “connected” by a locked thin door. You can hear everything happening in rooms that are connected like this. I talked to the staff and they worked to keep my adjoining room empty for the last few days I was there— but if the hotel is full, this may not always be possible. Overall very good hotel, and with continuing modernizations it can easily be great.

We've stayed here a few times and never had any issues. This time we had a room by the maid's closet so we heard the maid stocking the cart with mugs and glasses which was disturbing in the a.m. The hotel is in the same neighborhood as the theater we went to and is a nice walk to Union Square.

Nice hotel
Hotel is nice. We arrived at 5:30pm just in time for free happy hour and live music in the lobby. Hotel room was nice and clean. The hotel is going through some renovations. Overall a good stay. However we had one issue with our room. When we came back from a fun night out, we discovered that the bathroom sink had a drain back up issue. It wasn’t bad enough to move rooms, but it was a bit inconvenient since the issue was intermittent. The hotel sent up a maintenance person but he could not do anything.
