DISAPPOINTING AT FIRST
WHEN WE ARRIVED WE WERE TRANSFERRED TO A DIFFERENT HOTEL DUE TO PROBLEMS WITH THIS BUILDING. THEY SENT US TO THEIR SISTER HOTEL WHICH WAS CASABLANCA ON THE OCEAN AND I REALLY ENJOYED THIS PLACED.

disappointing birthday present
Upon arrival I was told that due to renovations I would be transferred to their sister hotel, The New Casablanca on the Ocean. Understanding that things happen, I was not frustrated. But when I checked in at Casablanca the experience was horrible. The room was dirty with mildew and mold in both the bathroom's sink and shower. The tub had chipped spots where someone must have painted over but still showed rust and discoloration all over. The kitchenette was just as bad, the stove was very rusty as well as the fridge and the walls and doors were rotten and puckered at the bottom as if water had damaged it. Along the window seals were green as well from condensation that turned to mildew. Disappointed I called Hotels.com but was given the run-around for over an 1hr 46mins. I was transferred from one supervisor after another only for each one to tell me there was nothing that could be done. I have used this service multiple times but I have never encountered such a disappointing experience.

Hotel was condemned!
The hotel was condemned! We arrived late with a baby and the place had been closed by the city of Miami, due to it being unsafe. We were not given any advance notice, or offered a refund as an alternative, but instead sent to a sister hotel. One may think an ocean side hotel was an upgrade, but no. The room was in serious need of renovation, the faucets were rusty, the paint was peeling, the walls were badly marked and the cleanliness was poor! We had no choice other than to stay, as it was late and our baby daughter was really not enjoying being kept from her slumber. We complained and were offered no compensation, but just expected to accept the situation! I find it appalling that there was no communication prior to our stay, considering that the place had been closed for a couple of weeks. And lastly, this booking site (which I can not name, or they will refuse my review) was very poor in their handling of the situation too (as per usual). As the booking representative, they should be taking more responsibility and assisting customers in these situations. For instance, they should not be allowing hotels like this to have a no refund cancelation policy. It leaves people with no place to turn.

Outdated/Remodeling
We received a great rate during season on a room here. Parking was a joke. We had to park underneath building and our card key wouldn't work when we tried to leave. The room was very outdated w/ a small box Tv, most of our floor was being renovated. However the balcony each room had made up for most of it!! Once remodeled I'm sure it will be lovely! We definitely want to stay again afterwards to see the difference, if, of course, we get another great rate through Hotels.Com. (:
