Grand Hotel Ritz, Rome
Okay for a budget hotel. Go with low expectations.
The hotel didn't even have basic kettles in the rooms. ITs more a 2-3 star property.

I enjoyed my stay at the Grand Hotel Ritz. The room was perfect. The service was exceptional and the rooftop restaurant was awesome. I loved everything about my stay with a few exceptions. The wifi service was poor. Never worked in my too and only worked in the lobby and the restaurant. if you want to be close to the city sites it's relatively inconvenient. When I first arrived I had to take a bus (910) to hotel (about 15-20 from Termini). The metro station is really close to the hotel. One stop to the A line which takes you to the Spanish steps, Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon. They are also in walking distance from the one stop. I made the mistake of traveling into the city on Sunday and getting to the Flaminio station at 10:30 and no trains were going toward the hotel. Had to take a relatively expensive taxi. If you don't mind public transportation this place was awesome!! Beautiful, immaculate with exceptional service. I would definitely stay here again.

A great value/room a little away from action
We arrived at 11:30 AM exhausted after getting up early from a cruise and taking a train to the hotel. The front desk person found us a room to check into early (check in at 2:00 PM). The room was spacious and clean. Bathroom had no place for things but it was fine. The location was near train station which was convenient. We did not know to buy a 48 hour train pass so we wasted some $ buying the one time... not a huge deal, but suggestion for ease and to save some $. The front desk people helpful with directions, suggestions, information and setting up tours and shuttles. Breakfast was great and staff was nice there as well.
