Hotel Metropole, Lisbon
Love the Hotel Metropole
This is my lost favorite place to stay in Lisbon. The staff is wonderful. The location can't be beat. Best view of the castle and the Rossio Square. It's got a wonderful older feel.

Not very happy.
Small older hotel. TV only had 2 channels with snow (they said that they were having some technical difficulties but it was not fixed in 2 days. No parking and had to park in city underground parking lot a block away which cost 45 Euros for 2 days. Hair dryer had been dropped and was split apart and when told they said they did not have maintenance over the weekend. Someone could have been electrocuted if it opened up on them when trying to use it. Wi-Fi kept cutting out since they didn't have great coverage.

Hotel Metropole, Lisbon
The hotel staff was great but one of the worst rooms ever - hallway smelled of BO, no dead bolt or good lock on doors, curtains badly stained/dirty, uncomfortable bed and pillows, badly stained carpet, dusty, opened window to air out room, AC filter dire need of replacement, old TV with one fuzzy channel, no in room safe. Breakfast not worth sitting down for. Moved to a different room for 2nd night - larger, bit cleaner. Staff said hotel will begin refurbishment December 2018. Despite the great staff, not worthy of 3 star rating. Hotel has great location. I reserved an airport taxi; guy shows up but has a dead battery! Waited for another taxi.

Great location
Great location, near restaurants and downtown.

Hotel Metropole, Lisbon
A old dowager hotel needing a good face lift.
The TV did not work and was ancient; the carpets were dirty; the ceiling had a big water stain and looked horrible; the breakfast was mediocre; the staff were pleasant; the hotel location was excellent; the rating should be two stars not three.
