A short walk would be better
I stayed here in January for the Heimtextil Exhibition. It is close to the Exhibition halls and that is the only reason I would recommend this place in case you are incapable of making a short walk from any of the several other much nicer hotels. On arrival do not expect any assistance with heavy bags until you get to the reception. Take your own pillow because the ones supplied are virtually filled with fresh air. There are very few bathroom supplies so make sure you have sufficient for your stay. Don't expect the option of buying a coffee in the lobby coffee shop before 08:15 am as the staff are too busy getting the place ready for lunch service. The bar/pub area is busy but the smoking policy also seems to apply to customers standing outside the bar so smoke travel up the elevator shaft and into the corridors. The sofa bed in the room had some very suspicious stains on it. The free WiFi doesn't work and in 2017 it is a rip-off to have to pay for a more reliable wifi option. It's convenient for the Exhibition but don't expect anything like a 4-star service.

Plan on extra expenses..
The Good: Room was comfortable, and the location was good as well. The Bad: - Information from the staff was difficult to get. - 37 euros a night for parking, with no other choices in the local area, a bit on the price gouging side at minimum. - Their Wifi was poor in quality and only allowed 3 devices total, and no way to de-register one or more in order to register. Of course, they were perfectly willing to charge extra for additional devices. - No gift shop, snack shop or other service related amenities. - 25 euros for a less than stellar breakfast... with little else in the direct local area, also a price gouging tactic. With so many other choices in Frankfurt, I will not be returning to this one. .

I stayed in a "superior room". This is supposed to come with a steam iron. 1) There was an iron, but not a steam one. Sometimes there is no iron provided and I have to insist one having one. 2) You should not have to pay for a "superior room" to get an iron anyway. If a hotel is going to cater for business travellers, is it not fair to expect some of them to need to iron their clothes to look presentable? I am a frequent visitor to this hotel (because I like the pool), but I have the same argument about the iron with the staff almost every week. Secondly, the pillows provided are probably the least comfortable of all of the hotels I have stayed in. They collapse to being flat when you lay your head down - disturbed sleep! :-(

About a 20 minute walk from the train station. Actually liked the walk but goes through an area where there are no restaurants or stores if that bothers you. About a 40 minute walk to old town. You can walk through some beautiful neighborhoods on the way. There are small little local restaurants on other areas of the walk which was nice. Very close to the convention center. My only complaints are the free WiFi is horrible to worthless. Needed to spend the 5 Euros for 2 of the 4 days I was there to do work. Save the 25 Euros for the breakfast. Overcooked eggs, croissants you can get at a USA grocery (not like the light flaky ones you get most other places I tried).

Overpriced and a Strong smell of Cigarettes
In my opinion, the Maritim is nothing special, in fact, it is just like many large impersonal business hotels. It is extremely expensive, particularly when there are exhibitions at the Messe centre next door. What I found particularly damning though, was despite paying not far short of £200 per night for 2 nights in a standard twin bedded room, that there was no complimentary water in the room. Moreover, I was "fleeced" of €10.50 for the pleasure of purchasing a bottle from the cafe next to the reception! Unbelievable! Additionally, there was only one small bar of soap provided for the whole 2 days for the 2 of us, which we were forced to continually swap between the sink and the shower.
