Great location, great staff, great breakfast. Downsides: the roof area was under construction and partially closed off. It's great location made it subject to noise at night of partying people, traffic, and sirens.

good and bad
After our flight to Athens and in just a couple of hours after we check in the hotel, we had a power failure in our room. Electricity keeps on turning off every 10 minutes. I told the front desk about the issue. Semeli from the front desk came up right away to try to fix the power issue. But when I went down to the front desk Sofia was not sympathetic and not accommodating at all. Good thing Semeli fixed the power issue, she was very nice. The hotel is old but clean and centrally located, restaurant has 24 hr coffee and drinks available which is good. Housekeeping and staff in the restaurant are nice and accommodating. On the day of check out, when we went downstairs to ask the male front desk if our pick up came, he said nobody came. I booked from a travel agency for €38 and not through the hotel. Since we are going to miss our flight, I have to have a taxi called by the hotel with a steep price of €58. So, I emailed the travel agency. The travel agency emailed me back and told me the driver came and gave the front desk my name, but the front desk said they cannot call or ask the guest. That was horrible because the front desk initially said no one came, seems like the front desk is connected to the taxi companies. I was very disappointed, the stress of almost missing your flight, and people trying to trick you.

Excellent boutique hotel!
HIghly Recommend Plaka Hotel. Staff is wonderful and very accommodating. Especially Eva!!! She greets people at a very nice breakfast and reviews the day or their plans and offers suggestions and helps make arrangements for tours or taxis. Oh and the views from the rooftop lounge are amazing. We were a group of friends that started off our Greek holiday at the Plaka Hotel. We even changed our reservation at the end of our trip since this hotel was so comfortable with a great location, convenient to metro and excellent service.

Great location and wonderful staff! Located in the heart of shopping and dining area. We walked everywhere from here with ease and the rooftop views and room views of the acropolis are amazing. The elevator is small but would highly recommend this lovely hotel.
