This should come with a warning: The hotel has no reception and thus no service. Breakfast comes from vending machines and thus costs extra. For all that, the bed is no cheaper than other, real hotels in the same neighbourhood (which is not great to start with with business and sex tourism around the Brussels Nord train station).

Very Good 8.0
Convenient with Friendly Staff
The location of the hotel is fabulous for sightseeing. Within walking distance of a lot of touristy spots and public transportation. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room is small but I was traveling solo so the size was perfect for me. The room was clean but there were some signs of wear. Nothing offputting. All told, Maxhotel is a great spot in a lively neighborhood.

Basic room, quiet and near train station
Very basic room, drab, feels like worn ikea furniture, they advertise selling food and condoms 24/7. Tells you who typically stays at this place. However, conveniently located and quiet.

Exceptional 10.0
Great for a solo traveler
This is a great place to stay for a solo traveler in a very expensive city. The room was small but met my needs perfectly. With that being said, I would have been uncomfortable with so wine else staying in the room. It was definitely too small for 2 people. The hotel was close to public transportation, area toruist attractions and plenty of restaurants.
