The hotel is starting to show its age. Beds are really hard. I was shocked to hear beeping coming from a smoke detector in which the batter needed to be replaced.

Disappointing Stay
The online pictures looked great, and for the most part...the room fit the bill. I was in 221 with my son for a visit to Hope. The location was good, very close in proximity. The room was decent. There are a lot of cracks and drywall repair going on in the ceiling that wasn't the nicest to look at. The outlet behind the end table where I was plugging in my charger had no plate on it and there was a spot in the carpet where my sock stuck to as I walked by...but again, all things I could live with. What was most disappointing is that every minute on the minute (or darn near close) the smoke alarm battery was going off because it was on "Low" battery. Now this most likely started happening sometime in the night after I fell asleep; because I definitely would have noticed. I woke up to use the bathroom around 4 a.m. and it wouldn't stop. Because my son was sleeping, and it would have taken someone to come down and replace a battery, which would have awoken him...I tried to use two of my three pillows to stifle the noise. Needless to say, horrible sleep. In the morning, I tried to pull the battery out (Eveready...do I need to say anything else) and it kept squawking. We were up and out before 8:30 a.m. My son wanted a water, so I gave him the $1.75 to get one from the vending machine. It was hot to the touch. Not room temperature...hot. I shared this with the front desk. The gave us two room temperature waters to go and sent us off with an "I'm sorry, have a good day."

The staff was nice and it was clean. The room was cold and was not able to adjust temp. Front desk did not know how either. Stayed in room with extra blankets.

Bed needs to be replaced. It sinks in the middle pretty significantly. Neighbors in room next door were incredibly loud all hours of the day/night. We complained. I think we should have been moved or given a discount on our stay. Neither of those happened.
