Charming but infrastructure inadequate.
The hotel is located in the great RECOLETA, just around the 4 seasons, and blocks from the Alvear. They are very strict with their check in and check out time…even though our room was promised at check in to be early, (they told us to walk around for 1 1/2 hours), the room was not ready til 3 1/2 hours past the 1 1/2 hours. The room was very comfortable and roomy, the decor is clean and art deco. The elevator is quite slow and small but that is standard for such an old building in Buenos Aires. We stayed on the 8th floor. The bar counter has a small bar sink that is not operable…just doesn't work. The bathroom water pressure is very low making showering an annoying experience. I also overheard other people complain about this. The bidet almost doesn't work and the vanity sink is tiny with a big faucet that makes washing one's face difficult. The worst part was that one elevator equipment room is on the opposite side of the wall to our room (room 806) and every time the elevator is called, the cranking of the equipment woke us up as it is extremely loud. I initially thought the noise was from the elevator reaching our floor and the noise was created by people coming and going to our floor, but later realized it was from the equipment room and had already spent 3/5 nights by then. The front desk people are very polite and pleasant. The breakfast is excellent. All in all, I would not stay here again because i couldn't sleep well and the bathroom issues.

2- star hotel with a 4- star facade
This hotel is in one of the most posh areas of the city and gives the impression of being a 4-star hotel from the outside. The rooms are very clean but nothing special. The quality of the sheets, towels, breakfast and the overall facilities is that of a 2 to 3 stars place.

Some problems checking in on first night- we were told we would need to be relocated to an affiliate hotel due to ‘plumbing problems’ and to check in the morning regarding our other nights. We were then told that the problem was overbooking in their system but eventually it was all settled and the remainder of our stay was fine. Staff were friendly and helpful, room was clean, and breakfasts were good

Cheap not boutique
Business trip to Buenos Aires. The hotel was on offer and reviews and photos looked good so I thought I’d give it a go. Staff were all very friendly & helpful. Just unfortunately the hotel was old, down and in need of refurbishment. It’s nit boutique. More cheap than boutique. Two old (small 3 max people) lifts that just took an age to do anything. It was faster walking up & down 5 flights of stairs. Breakfast very basic and somewhat limited. Room was old, cheap and in need of modernisation. If your on a limited budget and it’s only for a night or two then it does a job. If you want more comfort and facilities go elsewhere.
