no smoke detector in room. Had some loud howl all night from bathroom. Laundry room was next door so every morning was woke up to thump thump. Have stayed here many times before and never had issues. Make sure you don't stay in bottom floor.

We came to Caldwell to visit the College of Idaho and take in a football game. Upon arrival the person at the desk was friendly and the lobby was clean and looked fairly nice. We were told our room was at the other end of the hotel and down the stairs so we went back to our car and drove to the other entry only to find we were just down the stairs from the lobby. I only mention this because had we not had to enter from the dreary back stairs with its dim lighting and worn and dirty carpet we may have had a better first impression. Unfortunately once in our room it was obvious it was in as bad of shape as the back entrance and nothing had been done to update it in quite some time. Pictures were missing from the walls and un-patched holes remained. The bathroom had a towel rack nailed and screwed into an exposed 2x4, the shower rod had been moved and the old location never patched or finished, the toilet was loud and continually sounded as if it were clogged and the furniture was stained including some type of dark blue ink or nail polish on the nightstand. Our room was adjacent to a room with two small dogs that were left unattended and barked nonstop for two hours the second night we were there. The upside was the nice breakfast room which has been updated and had a nice variety of breakfast options. I would never recommend this hotel in the shabby state it is in, especially given the price of $120.00 a night.
