Good value
Still being renovated but the new rooms are great. The breakfast was good. It is an easy ride to downtown. Has a indoor pool which we did not discover until we got there

We tried to check in a little early and were told "We have no clean rooms right now" so we left and went shopping. When we returned to the hotel they gave us our room/keys and THEN informed us there was construction going on and we should use the outside entrance instead of the lobby entrance. I immediately stopped and looked at her stating I don't want to hear or be interrupted by construction all day. She got attitude and said "you're staying in a newly renovated room!" So, I took the keys. There was construction everywhere, even in the pool area and we had to walk through it to get anywhere! I think the "Under Construction" information should be addressed at the time of reserving the room, not after you've arrived and are checking in. I would not have stayed there if I knew there was that much construction going on. It made me very uncomfortable. As for the housekeeping staff, we were out ALL DAY and when we got back I noticed our room hadn't been cleaned. Minutes later the housekeeper knocked on the door and while shaking her head no said "You don't want housekeeping do you?" I said no because at that point we didn't want to be bothered but had to go find her for toilet paper and clean towels. Unbelievable!

Overall very good.
Overall my stay was very good. The Hotel is being renovated but that hasn't caused any great problems. My room was fabulous, it was one of the newer rooms. My only issue was the heater in my room. It was an old heater and while it gave off plenty of heat it was very difficult to regulate and I prefer to sleep in a cooler room at night. I had to unplug the heater to shut it off as there was no on/off switch. I made the desk clerk aware of this when I checked out she promised to have it addressed as she thought possibly that heater was scheduled to be changed. Otherwise it was all good, great breakfast and coffee station in the lobby. I try to stay at Holiday Inn Express Hotels because I really enjoy the breakfast and coffee station in addition to the overall room and customer experience. I would recommend this Hotel to anyone looking for a reasonably priced but comfortable Hotel.

OK Stay-Under Renovation
Overall, our stay was good and we would consider this hotel again. It is under renovation construction, so half the hotel is being worked on and the other wing is mostly completed. Check in was easy and pleasant. You do have to walk through the hallways of the "under renovation" wing to get to the other wing. When we entered our newly renovated room there was a strong musty smell. We were quickly moved to another room on the same floor which had no smell issues. We like that the windows could be opened for fresh air (even in winter we like the window cracked a bit). The pool and hot tub were nice and we used both. Breakfast was only adequate probably due to this being Christmas weekend and not many people in the hotel. We went 1/2 hour before it closed and the egg omelettes had obviously been sitting there for a long time. I've never had crusty omelettes before. The warm cinnamon rolls made up for it though (delicious). I think some might be put off by having to go through the renovation area, but we were fine with it. I would recommend that the desk person should at least mention it at check in so you are at least forewarned before getting on the elevator.
