    Overbooking in 2018!
Coming in at 2 am and having to be moved to another hotel due to overbooking is unacceptable!

    Nice, comfy hotel
The staff was very friendly, and the bed was super comfy. The hotel is within walking distance to Universal Studios, which is nice. The only issue we had was the lighting in the bathroom. It was just super dim while in the shower, which could be easily remedied by having a couple can lights added into the bathroom. Other than that, everything was wonderful!

    Convenient & comfortable.
The only reason we can’t give a 5 star review was due to the strong mildew smell in the bathroom. Staff is fabulous! Beds very comfortable. Clean and updated. Close to Universal. Quiet.

    Big Meh
The room was clean and comfortable. I've stayed at many Hilton Garden Inn properties and had a better experience. $20 to self-park - I can self-park at a HGI for $0 - and be closer to the door. The property has a gated parking area where you are issued a ticket. When you leave you insert the ticket and pay to exit. What was never told to us - use your room key to exit and the charge will be added to your room bill. The Shuttle to Universal was a complete bust. Either the vouchers for limited seats were used up to go to the park or the shuttle didn't show to return to the hotel. Very poor communications on how all of these details work and a convenient "blame the other guy" routine: Universal runs the shuttle - sorry". The property was in a state of minor repair/renovation with both in-house Starbucks closed, as-well-as other food vendors. A detail that, perhaps, should be disclosed up-front. The room: clean and comfortable. The bathroom had the worst lighting I've ever experienced in a hotel/motel bathroom: the mirror at the vanity had lighting behind the mirror surrounding the circumference of the mirror - very dim. No other lighting n the bathroom. Also, no towel bars or hooks to hang a towel. Plenty of towels on shelving - just not very convenient or practical. Last, one of the front desk employees, very friendly, but when asked how his day was - he expressed how tough it was to work the front desk. Your in the hospitality business - grin, bear it and make my day awesome.
