If you want to go back in time...
This was my very first stay at this place, and it is a one of a kind place. It really takes you back in time. The room was a good size. It was quite cozy. Free parking and good breakfast make for an enjoyable stay. It is all about the place itself. It has a charm rarely encountered anywhere else. I personally would have preferred a regular bed vs. two mattresses that were put together as the sleep was not as comfortable as it could have been. Next time, I will just need to pick a regular bed. Also, the front desk staff was extremely friendly, which made for a really nice stay. Great spa area, and a very impressive fitness center. Better than most chains I have been to. And this place is REALLY clean. In an older building like this one, one might see cobwebs. I looked around as I am a stickler for cleanliness, and try as I might, none were in sight. This was quite impressive. Really a nice place; I would definitely recommend for a romantic stay, just about 15 minutes away from the city centre of Plymouth. As there is no air conditioning, it may be a bit warm during hotters summer days, but otherwise, just a great, welcoming place.

Worth a Return Visit!
We've stayed at Boringdon Hotel on two occasions recently, and were impressed both times. Beautiful surroundings, comfortable rooms and friendly staff. The hotel alone is worth the price, but when you add in the spa facilities, it's a steal. We really enjoyed the swimming pool, therapeutic pool and steam rooms. Will definitely return when we're in the UK again.

Worth going for the spa and architecture.
The spa is fantastic. Incredible building. Room was good, excellent reception staff. Was not impressed by food in brassiere unfortunately, although breakfast the next day was good. Will definitely stay again but not sure we’d have our evening meal here.

Beautiful hotel shame about long service
Lovely hotel and lovely surrounding countryside. Room was clean and comfortable. Hotel building and facilities were excellent very special and the spa was fantastic. My only criticism was the staff, or lack of. The staff we had experience with were attentive and great, I feel though there were not enough and as such dining experiences were long, slow and we constantly had to keep asking for something. It took over an hour to have breakfast as there were only 2 staff (who were great) covering the whole of breakfast service for the whole hotel. Dinner was much the same. Shame as there were more staff the dining experience would be more relaxing and professional then it really would be a perfect stay - and this is really an easy fix.

A lovely hotel with brilliant staff!
We went to celebrate our 'babymoon' and were looking for a relaxing hotel with great foods. Boringdon Hall totally delivered. The spa was fantastic, the rooms were spacious with a comfy large bed, and the food was to die for! We did have a bit of an issue one morning, which I complained about, and the staff couldnt have been more keen to put things right and went out of their way to make up for the issue. I would say in terms of food, the evening food and afternoon tea is incredible. With the breakfast and lunch it felt like there was a different kitchen team working on that, it was nice, but not at all to the same standard....particularly disappointed in the sausage and cheese sandwich which was so greasy that the bread fell apart (same with my partners prawn and mayo, so much mayo the bread fell apart...and it was pretty thick bread!). But that would be my only criticism really. If I had complained about it, I'm sure they would have been very sorry and made it right. The spa was perfect and the treatments (I had three) were incredible! As they knew we were celebrating they put on a couple of extra nice little touches, which really was so sweet and kind. All in all a lovely stay and a great hotel - I would recommend to anyone.
