Great location, outdated hotel!
I chose it because of the convenient location and the brand. Hotel is outdated and in need of renovations Esp.bathrooms, ours had an awful odor, asked to clean it and fumigate room as some had been smoking in our room! I have asthma. So it really aggravated it! We had booked 2 nights pre Antartica cruise. Woken up early hours, loud noises in lobby! Next day the odor still prevailed, the manager was not very helpful. The restaurant food was ok, service was very slow. We were on a tight itinerary so we were unable to pack up/unpack/and pack up again for our cruise and cover our excursions in Buenos Aires.

Poor 2.0
Bad hotel, bad service, and bad management
I paid for a deluxe room with king bed. I arrived 3 hours early and they said my room would be ready at 3pm. The Intercontinental then gave my room away and stuck me with a single bed in a room that smelled like wood rot mildew. Intercontinental refused to remedy the situation. It took repeated calls from the good people at hotel.com to get the Intercontinental to switch my room the next day, but only because a room became available. Otherwise they would have kept me in the bad room and kept my money I paid for the good room. There are better hotels in the area and much better bang for your buck. The area itself is a bit dirty and you can find closer tourist hotels with a better staff. The people at the Intercontinental are completely unprofessional.
