Needs better cleaning service!
I expect a certain amount of cleanliness when I stay at Westin hotels. Unfortunately, I stayed at the Westin Nova Scotian on two separate occasions within a week, and both times, I saw random hairs in the bathroom. On my second stay, there were enough that I had to call for additional cleaning service - even after that, I saw random hairs behind the faucet handles, and at the foot of the bathtub, and under the hairdryer (which I did not use). The rooms are older, but there is no excuse for the lack of cleanliness. (I also had them vacuum, as there was an extra fan in my room, underneath which I spotted a large hairball!)

Pleasant Stay
Localled at the further end of the boardwalk, near lots of restaurants and shops. Modern decor, good food, parking expensive for small city. $20 daily to park yourself and $27 daily for valet parking. No info given when checking in re pool, wifi, or that breakfast was included. Staff could have been more helpful. Rooms were smaller than expected.

An aging hotel that is still trying to be posh
The hotel is undergoing renovations, so we assume that it will be more up to snuff in the future. However, the beds were not that comfortable, and the room seemed slightly run down. The window shade broke, although my partner was able to fix it. And there was a mouse that ran through the hotel bar! The location is great, however, especially if you are walking to downtown. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Westin in Halifax
Great hotel! Very helpful & friendly staff. Also, the hotel gives you a 5$ a day voucher to use anywhere there if you choose the Green cleaning option. I found it hard to believe, with hundreds of guests staying there, but the only thing I didn`t like was how hard it was to get change for a 20$ bill. Real nice place, close to everything in Halifax, highly recommend it!!

Okay hotel but unhappy
Hotel is connected to train station, which is how I arrived and departed, not by car. After I got home I had a $50 charge added to my credit card two days later. Called and asked them what this was for. They said it was a valet charge. I explained didn't use valet, parking lot, taxis, or even the front door. VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT I HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT BEING ROBBED BY MY HOTEL AFTER I LEAVE.
