Great hotel and great staff let down only by not having room service when hungry. Little cafe next door catered for breakfast. Reminds me that like this one many kitchens mass cook their food and lose the wow factor in cooking vs speed. Funny how we all just accept breakfast to look as if it’s been mass produced. Coffee machine made bad coffee and was difficult to navigate with cups having no handles scalding hot drinks burned fingers but the hotel reception people saved the day with a smile and knew my name from day 1

One of the oldest hotels in the CDB, right at the top end which was convenient for us visiting the Royal Exhibition Building. The rooms, and the rest of the hotel, looked and felt like it had been refurbished giving it a modern touch. It has all the necessary facilities with a bar and restaurant too. Would definitely stay again.

Great location. Rooms need some deep cleaning.
Overall, a good hotel. The best thing about this hotel is the location. It’s within walking distance of a few Tram stops and tons of restaurants and shops. There are also a cafe and bar on-site, but I never went to either. So I can’t say how good they are. This hotel also is very quiet, given its location. I didn’t hear any of the “hustle and bustle” of the city, while in my room. The room was ok, but the chairs and tables were kind of gross. The upholstery on the chairs was filthy. And the tables and desk were considerably scratched up. The bed was comfortable enough though. The bathroom was definitely cleaner and more updated. However, the shower had very little water pressure. Check in was ok, but not very informative. Overall, I’d still recommend this hotel. If they made some minor upgrades and cleaned the furniture a bit better, it would be a pretty perfect hotel.

Great location just a block off the main stip and near trolley stops. Trolleys in town are free. Take the trolley all the way to the Queen Victoria Market is free and great place to shop.

The rooms were good and clean. The safes are a little hard to operate and the building is old (but much of downtown Melbourne is original). The location is amazing and the staff were all very helpful.
