Hotel Yak & Yeti, Kathmandu
This is a 3 star NOT a standard 4/ 5 star hotel 😐
Rooms are unclean, towels smelt, noisy hotel with guest leaving doors open having loud conversations as it was their home, young children running around like it’s a playground. Swimming pool - dirty Spa - not very clean, dirty treatment rooms, unfriendly staff, women use steam room and jacuzzi without swimwear. I was informed swimwear was not allowed in steam room and jacuzzi and only in sauna it is permitted. This just put me off! Staff were pleasant in restaurant and went above and beyond to please guests. Check in was a disaster they left us waiting over an hour giving priority to others and informed us the room wasn’t allocated! Had no drinks, no apology, after a very long flight we were left to wilt. The front house didn’t come and check on us. We had to keep asking and pestering them, rooms were located on different floors despite making a request for the same floor. I won’t be staying here again and would not recommend we shortened our stay and moved to a far superior hotel for the same price.

Very Good8.0
Peaceful luxury in Kathmandu
The spacious deluxe king room with a very comfortable bed was just what we needed after trekking. Housekeeping was very kind and accommodating. Saturday brunch was delicious. The garden is beautiful especially when the silky oaks are blooming. It’s a nice refuge from the bustling city.

Great spot for top service.
Attentive, caring service throughout our stay. Excellent massage services for the weary traveler. Delicious buffet food options for all meals, and the menu for the restaurant was also excellent. Highly recommend it!

Best pick in Nepal - you won't be disappointed!
I can't say enough about the Yak and Yeti. Anyone around town who we mentioned it to was very impressed that we were staying there. A neurosurgeon conference was being held while we were staying there and then when we came back for our second stay, heads of state were staying there. The staff bent over backwards in every way, extra water, transfers to and from the airport, money exchange, early check in, answering any questions, handing our luggage. By our second stay, we felt like we were coming home to our favorite little hotel. The shops connected to the hotel had surprisingly good prices when compared to around town. And we had a great dinner at the Chimney restaurant in the hotel. But to be honest, the real reason to stay here is the buffet dining for breakfast, lunch or dinner. And I don't usually like buffets. First of all, the breakfast was included in the room price. They have a huge selection of excellent food from all over the world: Mediterranean, Chinese, Middle East, American and more. Salads and fresh fruit abound. On our second stay they even upgraded us to the Business floor that had really nice extra amenities, including a small private breakfast room. The grounds were well tended and beautiful to look at. And the steam, sauna and massage were great after a long flight.
