About Grand Hotel, Copenhagen

Playhouse and palace

For high culture and impressive architecture, the harbor-front Royal Danish Playhouse and Amalienborg palace, winter home of the Danish royal family, are both a 20-minute bus ride. A 25-minute bus ride takes you to The Little Mermaid statue and Kastellet, a historic fort.

Onsite dining, kids' room

A breakfast buffet is served each morning at Restaurant Frascati, which is also open for lunch and dinner and has alfresco dining during the summer. The hotel has bikes you can rent to explore the city, and there's a children's playroom to keep the little ones occupied.

Forgettable
No heat in the room. And a front desk that could care less

Great location convenient to train station, Tivoli and town square. Room was a bit drab, hotel feels run down with worn carpet and chipped paint -- definitely in need of some TLC. However, was reasonably clean and safe. Good breakfast.

Meh.
No plug near bed. No coffee maker or hot water heater. Fine hotel, but really no frills.
