The hotel lobby and pool is beautiful. The carpet upstairs in the hallway is ripped and peeled back . I can’t believe they have not replaced it. They said there was a flood ??

Best view in Athens
The absolute best view of Athens with a very friendly staff. While the hotel my be a bit dated, the other pluses make up for it.

My stay at the Royal Olympic was a phenomenal one. From check in to check out, the staff went to extra lengths to make sure that my stay was an enjoyable one. Overall the hotel is beautiful and well kept. The bathtub in my room was a bit dated and not what I expected based off the room description. I was also a bit shocked to find out that wash cloths were not available for use. When I check with the front desk, the gentleman working stated he would contact house keeping to see if they were able to locate some for the room. I never received any, so my guess is no. Again, overall this hotel had everything. The food, the service, the views and was centrally located near all major monuments, museums and attractions.

Good location, average room
Great location, room was pretty average, not 5 star. Bath/shower combination was very small and hard to use. If you were more than a size16 your backside wouldn’t fit into the bath!

Easy access to the major sights of the city. The rooftop restaurant has a spectacular panoramic view of historic ruins, temples and monuments which are the heart of the city. The pool area is exceptionally clean and well maintained. The only drawback to this is that it is closed way too early (5-6 pm). This prevents those who are out sightseeing from enjoying the comforts it has to offer at the end of the day. It should remain open longer for others to take advantage. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The food served at the breakfast buffet was abundant, delicious and served in a wide variety. The only drawback was with our initial room assignment. It was an interior room without a window, no view or natural lighting; basically a box. The staff admitted they were overbooked. After several days we had a poolside view which greatly improved the overall quality of our stay.
