Extremely rude staff, scary reviews of theft
I changed hotels to be with my friends who were showing work at Paris Photo. My checkin experience was horrid—both front desk people were abrupt and became annoyed instantly when I didn’t understand what they were telling me. I had changed my reservation the night before via the hotel.com app. I paid for two rooms that were each with a queen sized bed and August (the name of the front desk clerk) did not understand. He raised his voice when I kept explaining that I had 2 reservations instead of 1. Then, the other man (don’t know his name) ALSO raised his voice to the point that I had to say “please lower your voice. You do not need to yell.” Then, my toilet was broken. It ran the entire time I was there. I alerted the front desk Sat AM but they said it would not be fixed until Monday. That was it. No apology. No discount. No room change. Each time I returned to the hotel, no one said a word as I walked by the front desk. I was WORRIED I was was going to be robbed because the staff was so rude and the online reviews were HORRID! That said, I liked the shabby chic (not intentional: it’s a old hotel with old stuff) of the hotel! I LOVED my room on the 6th floor that had a balcony! I liked the location (tho I prefer the left bank: not rich tourists everywhere but instead locals). After two days, I changed back to my original hotel. Hotel needs to have staff SKILLED IN CUSTOMER SERVICE because their HORRID BEHAVIOUR is what lost them 3 more nights of a reservation.

Fantastic older hotel at a great location
This is an older hotel but that worked out for us because the rooms were incredibly spacious and with three of us in the room that worked out wonderfully. The location was fantastic - less than a 5 minute walk from the Louvre, so many great restaurants and very easy to get to the activities we had planned. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. The only downfall to our trip was we traveled in late August, so it was a little warm and the hotel did not have A/C - not a big deal, we opened the windows and had a fan, but that wasn't the problem. There was a local night club on the same street that the hotel is on, that was very popular Thursday, Friday & Saturday and we encountered some very enthusiastic, drunk Parisians on those nights. Kept us up, but we just slept in the next morning - slight inconvenience for an otherwise wonderful stay. Definitely would recommend and hope to stay there again!
