Service was impeccable! Everyone was helpful and friendly. The wait staff went above and beyond when serving you at the restaurants or Miramar Buffet. We stayed at the Barcelo Maya Riviera- Adults Only Resort. First, there is no shuttle from Airport to the resort. When booking your transport in advance, allow an hour upon touchdown getting off the plane, picking up your luggage, and going through customs. We were abandoned because our ride didn't want to wait for us. We paid $100 cash to arrange for last minute shuttle and shared a ride with 2 couples who were dropped off at their hotels beforehand. The ride direct to this resort is a little over an hour. Our flight arrived at 1:10 and we arrived at the resort close to 6 p.m, Check in was quick. Make sure you get a towel card. We did not get one so we used the same towels during the entire stay. It is a good idea to make your restaurant reservations around the corner from check in. We stayed 5 nights and reserved a different restaurant each night with French being 2 nights. Italian was our least favorite. The French was elegant but they were "out" of the lobster both nights. The rooms are spacious with a King Caesar bed (8ft wide). Standard variety of food at the Miramar Buffet. Disappointed that we could not get in the beach because of seaweed. You can walk to the sister property where it's cleaner however, take your swim shoes. There are rocks (some sharp) under water. The pool is wonderful. Great place for 20-40yr old
