About Danubius Hotel Astoria City Center, Budapest

Welcoming 100-year-old hotel at the center of bustling Pest

Near the Danube in Pest

Danubius Hotel Astoria City Center is as central as its name would suggest, located on one of Pest's main streets, Kossuth Lajos utca. It's 5 minutes away from the Hungarian National Museum, where you can learn about the country's history through its art and artifacts.

Soothing hot springs

Budapest sits above a system of caves and thermal springs, and has been known as a spa town since Roman times. After taking in the healing waters at the 100-year-old Hotel Gellért you can climb up Castle Hill on the Buda side to enjoy the view of the River Danube and Pest.

Michelin-quality dining

The hotel's Café Astoria & Restaurant is headed by executive Chef Tímea Lakatos, whose stint at Costes restaurant helped it earn a Michelin star. The marble lobby makes a nice place to pick from dishes like mangalitsa pork with pressed apple sausage and a ginger pumpkin bisque.

Slip into a silent sleep

The 135 rooms with brocade coverlets and curtains and dark wood furniture fit the atmosphere of this long-established hotel. In addition to windows that have been soundproofed to help ensure a good night's sleep, guests can expect free WiFi, satellite TV, and a minibar.

Grand Budapest Hotel
This elegant and well-located hotel transports you back to the early 1900's, when it was built. The staff was very professional and saw to our every need. We were able to book bus tours and a dinner cruise directly in our hotel. The old-world charm of this hotel also extends to its restaurant, not only in its elegant decor but also in the attentiveness of the staff and the excellent menu. It is within easy walking distance to excellent shops, restaurants, historical buildings and the Danube River. I highly recommend a stay at the Astoria!

Is a great historical place, needs some care but overall is a great place to stay, very centralized, a walking distance to anything you would like to visit.great breakfast buffet, friendly staff, helpful front desk. Just the bed was a little hard for my confort and not good pillows. But if you like old vintage buildings and a trip to the past, this is the place to stay. And WIFI was very good anywhere in the property.
