2/10 Poor

Absolutely poor, avoid
Really poor. No check in staff, waited for 2 hours to get checked in. In the end was checked in my maintenance staff sitting on the desk, he didn't activate the room cards, had to come back to get to activated. Rooms were dirty. breakfast, coffee machine was broken and worktops were dirty. Overall poor hotel.

Worst hotel I ever stayed at
The worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Room was very poor quality, cleaning was non-existant, service unhelpful, wifi barely functioned and the breakfast experience was disgusting

Needs a good clean
Hotel old and dated. Rooms on need of a refurb, shower and bath both leaked flooding the floor when used. Needs a good clean. On a plus side £10 to park for the weekend.

Terrible place to stay even for a night.
Would not recommend staying in this hotel, took my wife here for 1 night. 1. parking meters would not take card broken cash only £1 coins so had to go looking for an ATM, none close by, 2. When checkin opened at 4pm the queue was out the door, tour bus came in. 3. The hotel was run down, dirty could be much better if Britannia didnt own it. 4. Room had no windows, would be unbearable in the summer months. 5. Even the toilet roll had only a few sheets left, no spare had to go to reception to ask for one. 6. Worst hotel for the money I have ever stayed in, I'm ashamed at the fact its in my home country of Scotland. I travel to hotels on a weekly basis so very aware of standards, if the room had been £60-£70 could understand, and probably would not have even written this review. This place could be so much nicer the location is not that bad... Britannia spend some money or sell the place to some hotel chain that will look after the place,

Terrible! Don’t do it!
Terrible! We arrived 30 minutes before checking, in between two coach parties and it was chaos. We managed to get checked in before most of the coach party but still took 40 minutes, staff were rude but they were totally understaffed. The room was hot, basic, unclean, handles missing from wardrobes, mould up the walls in the shower…. I’m not sure it’s been dusted this year! Reception was covered in cobwebs and fly’s trapped in them. Bar was running out of drinks (the hottest day of the year), the drinks machine was broken. The lifts worked but sounded like they were about to break any minute. We were missing towels in the room. One flat pillow each and a mattress with springs that dig into your ribs! We managed to get our room when we checked in but many weee left waiting after 4pm for their room (check in time was 4pm).

Britannia Hotel Edinburgh.
For the price I paid I was pleasantly surprised by the facilities the room was relatively clean and the bed was clean and comfortable. Me and my girlfriend didn’t spend a lot of time in the hotel and used it mainly to sleep as we went out exploring Edinburgh in the day. The staff where pleasant and helpful on the few times we interacted with them. If I was to stay in Edinburgh again I would definitely consider the Britannia again.
