    Adequate

    We arrived at check in which was reasonably easy and staff at the desk were friendly and helpful. Lobby and main areas appeared clean and modern, though never used any of the bars etc. The room itself was very outdated, quite a dull colour and very dark, didn't have much lighting and window was small and thick curtains/nets which didn't let much light in. The bed itself was okay and reasonably comfortable, though had a wooden headboard and bed sat away from headboard so wasn't comfortable in that respect. A very obvious lack of sockets in the bedroom, one in which didn't work, as well as the tv remote which didn't work, we didn't report this as we managed. The room lacked a hairdryer which was requested, though the staff at reception were a little rude when we forgot our room number, even after stating our name and which room we thought it was which I felt was unnecessary as there were hundreds of rooms in the hotel and we were quite obviously confused. The hotel was well located just on the edge of the city centre though to walk into the city involved walking under a very dark underpass and would not have felt comfortable walking through on my own. Overall it was an average stay. I'm not sure I will stay again but it was adequate for the purpose of the stay on this occasion.

    AVOID!!!!!!

    Booked an interconnected family room as the hotel has a pool, I made 3 phone calls to the hotel to see if I needed to reserve a slot which never got answered. Arrived around 20:00 to check in and was told yes, the pool needed to be booked but it was now closed. Rooms were fairly clean but the coffee cups were dusty. The room was very hot on the 9th floor as the air conditioning kept saying the window was open which it was not. We could only get 11:15 for the pool for 4 people, not 5 as we needed, checked with reception regarding check out and they said we could leave at 1 pm. My 14 year old daughter stayed in the room and rang me to say a family had come into our room with a key! The hotel had booked one of our rooms out to another 5 family. Our possessions, cash and most importantly, our daughter were inside, I went to reception to demand an explanation and was told "we can only apologise for the error" the manager came out to apologise and refunded our stay but this is a serious breach of safety. If we I could score in minus I would as the whole thing was a shambles from start to finish.

    We came to stay at the hilton after some time since our last visit (due to covid) we were delighted to return. The room was immaculate, one of our favourite features is the bath, its amazing! The breakfast is worth every penny and more! This is the first time weve been where we were able to get our own hot breakfast items. All lovely. The only drawback was the heat in the room. The air con was very temperamental, we've had this on a previous stay. So i alerted the reception staff who then provided us with two fans, one was broke so we returned it. The air fon continued to turn on and off all through the day and night with the message "window is open" For some reason this was remedied by opening the door to the room. Other than that it was an absolutely lovely stay.

    Need to get with the programme

    In 2 of the 3 rooms booked, the ceilings were stained and bowed from an obvious old leak (air conditioning I assume). In this climate I would have expected full rolls of toilet paper but the rooms had half rolls clearly left over form the previous visitors. For a 2 night stay x 2 adults in one room (1 adult in another and 2 kids in interconnecting room), 2 small bottles of soap were wholly inadequate. Swimming pool more like a pond. Friendly and helpful staff. Good selection of breakfast and comfortable beds.

    Hotel good car park terrible.

    Overall hotel was good, clean and friendly staff. The car park was extremely expensive £45 for 3 nights, also extremely narrow and twisting resulting in a scratched wheel arch, due to cars being parked in restricted spaces! Car park needs manning to stop this. Extremely annoying and resulting in £300+ garage charges.

    The hotel was very well located to the town and bars. The only thing that was a disappointment was the shower as the water took so long to go down the plug and I thought it was going to overflow. I would suggest that maybe it was blocked up with hair! Also the large shower head didn't work.

    Room

    Hotel bar and restaurant, reception nice, staff very helpful, only downside, i booked a luxury room, but must admit, stayed in better hotels,with better rooms, need updating, rather dark, could do with better lighting in the bathrooms,thought rather small for a luxury room, and the price. Maybe would consider a return, but not just at the moment.

    Awful

    Some staff were rude. No parking available on site meant we had to park some way away, had to carry luggage some distamce, and it cost £27 for the night. Room was okay, but there was thumping music until the early morning hours so did not sleep well. No availability to swim either throughout our 2 night stay. The pool being the main reason we booked at Hilton. Room service was okay but the food was not great. I have stayed at Crowne Plaza before and it is way better there and better value.

    Disappointing

    Arrived to check-in at 3pm and had to wait until 4 which was tricky with a 6 month old baby who was very tired and ready for nap. No urgency from staff. Pool was unclean, floating plasters etc. No haidryer in room, did offer to bring me one up but had ran oyt of time due to dinner reservation and late check in
