Shangri-la Bangkok, Bangkok

Awesome location! Right next to BTS station and boat dock so it's very convenient to get just about anywhere in the city. It's close to Yaowarat Chinatown area and there's tons to see and eat right outside the hotel. Krunthep Wing rooms are much better in my opinion. Wish they had bedside charging ports but overall very well maintained and nice quality materials used throughout. The breakfast on the Krungthep side is also better too - less selection but better quality. The vibe at this hotel is much better than the Mandarin Oriental next door. It's quite upscale but they don't make a huge fuss about it. The Mandarin tries to maintain to their elite aura to the point where you have to really dress up just to walk through the lobby. Shangri-La is a bit more relaxed while still maintaining a very upscale feel. The only downside is I wish there was more authentic Thai food options for the breakfast - they try but the tastes are quite muted relative to those you'd find elsewhere in the city. We had a balcony room which I enjoyed sitting on every morning to watch the sunrise and the city wake up.

From the moment we walked in until the moment we left we experienced excellent thoughtful and courteous service. Each and every employee was consistently excellent. I wish we could have booked all of our stays with this hotel group. Simply excellent!

The hotel is amazing. They such a good job of keeping it clean and updated. The staff anticipated our needs and were very accommodating. The breakfast was a good assortment of food and the staff was quick to get you what you need.

Breakfast is getting worst. Especially coffee is so bad.
