The hotel was as expected of a Holiday Inn - large, clean & check-in was fast & efficient. Staff pleasant. We booked a room for 3 friends travelling together & were allocated a room that wasn't very big. It had a king bed & a sofa bed, which made the room cramped & meant two of us shared a bed. But as it was only 1 night we managed. Breakfast included in the price was great value, fresh with lots of variety. Only 15 mins easy walk from the HBF.

It's a great location, close to Altstadt. There was a confusion at reception as they weren't sure if the room was ready (at 3 PM?!). Plus the hairdryer didn't work but I was offered a portable one for a small deposit. Room was huge and very bright! Excellent bathroom and enough towels and toiletries. Breakfast is ok but gets busy at 8

My room smelt of sickand needed to be changed.

My welcome at reception was not really a welcome, no 'hello, how can I help, hope you enjoy your stay etc' I doesn't take much. My cleanliness rating is based upon the first room that I was allocated (301) having to be changed as soon as I opened the door there was a bad smell of wet/sick carpets. This should have already been identified and the room not allocated. When I went back to reception, the response was poor, just a 'so you want a different room then?'. No apologies. The second room was fine and clean as expected. My eco rating is because TVs in all Holiday Inns, including this one are still left on standby. The breakfast and restaurant staff were very good.
