70th Bithday treat for my sister
The hotel in generally very clean, but the bathroom in our room wasnt. No shower gel empty bottle container on wall with no shower gel and container near sink was empty too and look like it hadnt been cleaned for ages And also need bin liners that actually fit the bin. Also bar staff not very friendly to busy talking to each other. And reception staff not much better. Breakfast staff were very helpful and friendly considering it was a very busy morning. Went with my sister my sisters 70th Birthday took her ti the hippodrome which is literally a 3 min walk. Dont nirmally use this hotel when visitng but need to be near hippodrome due to sister not being able to walk far. Wont be using again stick to my other hotel

The hotel was not clean, we had to move rooms because clothes were still in the wardrobe and food in fridge and bathroom not cleaned, the hotel was very noisy and didn’t sleep, I won’t stay here again

Quirky.
In many ways, I wish they kept people's security deposits to improve the room. The bathroom door lock was stuck, so we didn't dare shut the door. There was no full length mirror, and the mattress was at least 20% bigger than the bed below. The sheets were also from a much bigger bed. I would avoid room 219.

Great location beside the main train station. Could do with a facelift as the rooms are quite dated. Unfortunately the hotel could not honour my booking on my first night, without giving a reason why not. Thankfully they were able to find me a room at the Radisson around the corner.

No rooms available even when booked!
Arrived at 5pm to be told no rooms available, and a large queue of other angry customers. Friend and I had to get ready in the toilets and look awful for our dinner reservations. Got back to hotel around 8pmbto freshen up from the rain before a gig only to be told still no rooms and we could "upgrade" to a room with a sofa if we paid extra £50 they 'may refund after"?! Not much upgrade to sleep on a sofa. They would not give us 2 single rooms and had a terrible attitude and didn't care. Had to book another hotel and get a taxi and am making sure I get my money back for the non existent room. Other people got 8 free drinks vouchers for the inconvenience but we only got 1. All we wanted was the twin room we booked months in advance or a reasonable alternative (2 single) and they couldn't do that and suggested we share a bed. Very inappropriate. Rude staff, avoiding questions and acting smug
