The Rubens At The Palace, London
Tiny room for a lot of money
The Rubens is in a great location. The staff is friendly and helpful. But our room was TINY - as in, not enough room to open a suitcase next to the bed tiny - and dark, with one window partially covered by heavy velvet drapes. For over $300 a night, we thought it was a very poor value. Do they keep a stock of these substandard rooms for online booking companies? Also, the decor was very much in the crewel embroidery fabric on the walls, velvet drapery, mode, which we found more bordello than luxurious, but that's a matter of personal taste. We wouldn't choose to stay here again.

Great Experience
My daughter and I stayed 8 nights in September 2018. Location was outstanding with close access to Victoria underground for getting around the city and within walking distance of several of the sites we were interested in. Staff was very friendly and helpful, particularly when it came to getting cabs on short notice. Breakfast service was prompt and the food excellent. I would have liked to see a few more pastry options for the continental breakfast, but those offered were very good..Hot items were beautifully presented and very tasty. The one minor annoying aspect was the noise level of the HVAC fan, but even that was not a significant issue.

Small but mighty nce
Great stay at the Rubens - the room was a bit small but very nice. We expected a small room but the drawers to keep our clothes were tiny.
