Adequate with a decent breakfast buffet
Overall our stay was fine but I was disappointed in the customer service for what was a fairly expensive hotel. We needed items such as travel plug adapters and, while they had a vending machine with the adapters available, the machine was out of service and the hotel didn't have any way to help other than suggesting I go to a store. They also didn't have extra video cables - many do, particularly those that are large like this and seem to cater to businesses. I also was surprised there was no air conditioner in the room so sleeping was a bit of a challenge with the warm, humid weather. The breakfast buffet was decent but the service was puzzling along with the opening hours. For example, on the day we left we arranged to skip hotel breakfast because the hours were too late to work with our taxi to the airport. Then, when we went down to get the taxi, it was clear plenty of people were eating well ahead of the opening time.

Great hotel and location
Historic hotel located in a safe neighborhood, close (5-7 min. walk) to some very good restaurants, including Roly's. Old fashioned design of hotel room and furniture - cozy and welcoming. Hotel staff were friendly and professional - no problems checking in or out. On-site pub was a pleasant site for a nightcap. Sadly, this hotel is going to be demolished in two years to make way for retail and condo projects. (:

Had a nice stay
I enjoyed the hotel and staff. The room was great. The neighborhood was great, if you like rugby. Most pubs nearby were Rugby clubs. I have only one minor complaint. The maid service wasn't very good. One day they never came in and cleaned. When they did, they didn't leave enough towels for everyone or replace dirty glasses. The front desk sent someone immediately to take care of it when we spoke to them and were very apologetic. Overall, it was a nice place and I'd stay there again.

Expats review of the Ballsbridge hotel
This hotel is located on the site of the old Jury's Ballsbridge Hotel and is a great location. It is a stone's throw from the Aviva Stadium for soccer and rugby events. It is just minutes from St. Stephens and Grafton Street. Staff were efficient and friendly overall but in some ways lacked the Irish charm of the old Jury's hotel staff due to the fact that many of the staff are no longer Irish but from other EU countries.. Good parking. Good city public transportation access. Only peeves were that the double bed in the three person guest room was too small for two grown adults and the price of the breakfast at 15 euro is way too expensive. You had to buy the entire buffet breakfast and could not pick a la carte items if you had a small appetite. Fortunately there is a lovely cafe just around the corner that serves a full Irish breakfast for half the price and offers ample a la carte choices for all appetites. The quality of the food at this cafe is also excellent. Not withstanding these small concerns we would definitely stay at the Ballsbridge again on our next visit.
