Taj Boston, Boston
Very Good8.0
The Tattered Taj
The former Ritz-Carlton was one of the Grande Dames of Boston. Sadly, it has been allowed to deteriorate into the Tattered Taj. The location is wonderful. It is right across the street from the Boston Commons and on Newbury Street, which is great for shopping and dining. You can see that the bones of the formerly beautiful hotel are still good. It is in great need of renovation. The upholstery on the furniture is unraveling, the wallpaper is peeling, the carpeting is shredding and mold is growing in the bathtub. Too bad. We had a beautiful view looking out onto the Commons. It was a clean and comfortable stay but I would not pay top dollar for it.

Luxurious Accommodations
The view of the Public Garden and Commons was amazing from the 16th floor. This hotel was luxurious with a myriad of staff there to help you. Breakfast in their dining room eas out of this world.
