Photo Shoot for the Patriots parade. Perfect location. My son came along and we had a great time. The staff was wonderful, the hotel was amazing the room spacious, and our stay was very memorable. Thank you!

Best surprise stay!
I LOVED staying here. It was a random pic based on proximity to my company’s office. From the moment I walked into the lobby, I felt like I was in a stately New England hotel. The room was lovely - very traditionally decorated, not usually my thing, but it was perfect. They’re doing some renovations so they provided a free breakfast and happy hour snacks. I will definitely stay here again! Bathroom was a bit small, but well appointed, and high quality everything.

Forlorn with No Food Service
I booked The Taj on hotels.com but did not see the fine print that the hotel is starting a major renovation and therefore all of its restaurants, bar, tea room, etc, are completely closed, and no room service meals. This information should be posted up front and in an obvious way. I would have rated the hotel as poorly as possible because of this, except that the free continental breakfast being offered in compensation for no other food service turned out to be plentiful and delicious, and served in a very beautiful room. Also, there was never anyone at the concierge desk when I was there, and a general air of forlorn neglect in the lobby. The desk staff and doormen were courteous. The location at the foot of Newbury St. overlooking the Public Gardens is fabulous so the property is worth renovating, but it will be less than ideal in the meantime!

Overall enjoyed our stay...
Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The room had a great view and was clean. Slightly disappointed that the hotel bar and room service were unavailable due to a renovation. The hotel was quiet, but we were there during a protest march in/around The Commons, so there was a lot of noise and confusion pretty much all day for one of the days we were staying at the hotel, which wasn't terribly relaxing (imagine trying to sleep in and hearing people screaming and yelling the entire time). The room itself was nice but definitely in need of renovations/updates. As a silver member of Hotels.com, usually I get some kind of perk upon check-in, and for this hotel, it was free wifi, which is complimentary anyway, so there was not really any kind of additional perk. Having stayed at The Taj in NY (which is absolutely perfect), I had high hopes for this hotel but was unimpressed. I stayed at this hotel in July and the room had stains on the carpeting and a big tear in the lamp shade, so I suppose this stay was a step up. One last note, checking into the hotel was a pleasure. The woman that helped me (I believe her name was Evan) was polite, helpful, and very friendly. And the gentlemen that helped us with valet parking the car were also very helpful and friendly.
