Not Impressed, Not Going Back.
Everything about this hotel is cheap -- and falling apart. Rooms are tiny and dirty (bathroom surfaces were nowhere near clean, old cigarette butts outside the door), there are no privacy shades on the door, the shower does not work, the bathroom sink unit is rotting. There are plenty of options in this price range in this neighborhood of New Orleans, so there's no reason to stay here. We come to New Orleans every few weeks and are exploring different hotels, and this is by far the worst we've come across. We won't be going back.

Close to everything
We were in town for a game at the Super Dome. We got to town the night before to do some sight-seeing. The hotel staff was very nice. The street car stopped right across the street from the hotel. We took it to the French Quarter on Saturday night and on Sunday we took it to the area of the Super Dome. We had to walk 4 or 5 blocks but it wasn't bad. The area of the hotel was nice. There were plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby. The hotel was really cool because it was old and had a historic feel. The bed was comfortable. There were a few cosmetic issues, like the towel rack missing, but nothing that stopped us from enjoying our stay. The breakfast was what you would expect, nothing fancy. Bagels, cereal, pastries, coffee and juice. Basically- if you are looking for a place with a lot of amenities, this isn't the place for you but if you are looking for a super cool, laid back, inexpensive place to stay that is close to everything- this place is for you!

Convenient and cheap
Basic small standard room. Just needed a bed to sleep in and it was fine for that. Bed felt clean and cozy enough. Shower was awful but worked. Free mini breakfast which I didn't eat.

Charming facade, disgusting room
I had read other reviews that described the dirty rooms, but thought it might be exaggerated. It was not!! Please see attached photos! Hair and dirt on turned down sheets. Obviously not changed from last guest. Bits of trash in can, obviously just dumped not changed. No soap. Had to go to office to get some, couldn't call, there was no phone in the room!! (Rm 104) Filth on floor. Light outside the room was burnt out. Deadbolt was sketchy, you could see outside thru the gap in the door. Rm 104 is located off the courtyard, not in the main building. Perhaps this this is the kind of rooms that they give to guests who book on a discount site? We will not be back to find out. Luckily we had packed linens in case the reviews were true. We were there only one night, for a book signing nearby. Really gross. If you try this hotel, I hope your experience is better than ours. Good luck.

Don't stay HERE!!!!
For the price they charged was ridiculous. The bed had dirty sheets and no cover. The sham placed on the bed had stains. Dirty towel in sink when we went to our room. Had to take cold shower, no hot water. Mirror about to fall off bathroom wall. No one cleaned the room, had to go to the front desk and ask for clean towels. Tub dirty, I will not be returning here. I'd rather sleep in my car than this place.
