The Historic Inn was comfortable, but I felt it could've been alittle cleaner. I found a used wash cloth hanging over the shower rod. There was dry spots of dirt underneath the sink and the tub could've used some ajax or limeaway to remove the buildup. But I was comfortable in my room otherwise.

10" Waffles, 6" plates.
Seemed fun at first, a little strange, but we were looking for a bit of adventure. Then it sort of went down hill. The room we stayed in was large, so they do have at least one larger room. No cable TV but we didn't care. It was a poorly remodeled front room, so we were right on the street. The actual front desk was next door, so the weirdness started when people would walk up and knock on our door. AND the door really didn't close very well, or fit the frame well, so you could see the daylight coming through the edges. (I think that complaint was worth starting a sentence with a conjunction, don't you?). The bathroom had rotting trim around the edges and smelled a bit funny. Thats when it really went downhill. There was ZERO hot water. One of the ceiling fans didn't work. The strange little closet was really just a passage back to the next room. Again the door did not fit well, so we knew when the neighbors came and went because we could see their lights over top. There were no hooks any where. No closet pole. Fridge didn't work. No blankets on the beds, just 3 sheets. Got blankets, they had burn holes in them, all of them. Seriously, they place has amazing potential, and the employees were very nice, but its really a dump and poorly run. I mean, DEAR LORD HOW HARD IS IT TO PUT OUT PLATES BIGGER THAN THE WAFFLES???? I could go on but I can't get past the waffle plates.

Great looking place from the outside and it is also has easy access to the French Quarter. The room was small, but cozy enough to please. However, we had issues with cleanliness and comfort. Floor was very sticky and the shower did not work correctly. Hot water came out of the faucet while only cool water came out of the shower head. No extra blankets in the room as well, just thin sheets on the bed. This was a booking during the Winter time.

New owners have their work cut out
Checkin was very slow... awkward to stand in a hallway with strangers and all of your belongings while the previous checkin take 20 minutes... but receptionist was very sweet... I first raved about this Inn because it was cozy & cute... then at 4 am I was attacked with a ginormous palmetto bug (like a huge roach) which wasn't because of cleanliness, but because there is a huge crack in the door. How water worked in the sink... not the shower... now washcloths.. honestly, if the new owners are serious, this could be a wonderful place! Just needs work.. we will probably give it one more shot, but really hope it's AFTER updates are made.

This place shouldn't be renting out rooms. It needs to be remodeled. Location was the only plus
