Great hotel
The staff at this hotel are always extremely welcoming and friendly. I have stayed here on a number of occasions and I am always "welcomed back". The check-in was efficient and the rooms, although in need of a little updating , are comfortable. Their wine hour, which seems to be a new initiative this year, is a welcome addition and a nice touch. The management uses the opportunity to mingle with the guests which is always pleasant.

Things have changed
I have stayed here many times and enjoyed my stay. This time not as much because of one rude front desk person. She is young and lack public service skills. The rest of the front desk staff, bellman, housekeeping and manager are superior. One of my favorites is Brandi. I use to enjoy sitting down in the lobby and watching them work. You could see and feel that they were a team that worked well together and enjoyed each other and their job. Something has changed and I don't see or feel that anymore. The rooms are nice and comfortable. Nice area good transportation. The bistro has good food but they are not open on the weekend. But there are lots of other good places nearby to eat at.

Best combination of value/location in DC
I’m usually critical of hotels that have rough edges, such as door corners that need repainting or marred bathtub surfaces, but found that I could overlook them here because everything else was so perfect. Staff were amazingly friendly and helpful, the weeknight happy hours in the lobby were cheerfully presented, everything was extremely clean and as well-cared for as possible without undertaking repainting or replacement projects. All of the spaces have a clean, modern, and uncluttered appearance. The room amenities are wonderful. A full, really usable galley kitchen, small balcony, two closets, and lots of nice touches such as coffee beans and a grinder. Both Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods are close enough to walk to, so real use can be made of the kitchen. (We saw other guests coming in with Trader Joe’s bags, and Whole Foods is even closer. The walk to the Foggy Bottom/GWU Metro station is five minutes max, and we had a lovely 15 walk to Kennedy Center one evening. GWU being so close means there are many inexpensive small restaurants nearby. The $1 Circulator bus that runs between the Georgetown shopping area and Union Station is two blocks away. I cannot imagine any reason to stay anywhere else for our next trip to DC.

Best hotel stay I've ever had.
This hotel was amazing. The staff greeted us with warm smiles and were very helpful. The hotel is very well maintained and absolutely gorgeous. The room was bigger than expected and had a full vanity/dressing area as well as a kitchenette that you could have stocked for very reasonable pricing. Very close to shops, resteraunt, and bars. Would without a doubt stay here again. If you're planning a trip to DC this is the best bang for your buck.
