Not the same
Stayed here 1.5 yrs ago and it has changed. Looking worn down. Room was tiny I think because I booked thru paid same last time and room was bigger and prettier. Breakfast was good and staff pleasant.

Internship Central
Parking is nearly impossible, restaurant wait staff consists mostly of interns who are poorly trained; breakfast buffet is good, varied; regular menu is good; neighborhood did not feel overly safe or dangerous; have had worse hotel stays, but not intentionally. When problems addressed with desk, they were satisfactorily resolved as muvh as possible.

Very Disappointed!
Although Mercure Inverness Hotel has had remodeling, there were some real problems for us. The hotel does not have air conditioning in the rooms. I'm guessing that, at least during most of the year, that isn't a problem; but the rooms (our friends also booked a room at the same time) were very warm, which meant we had to keep the window open. Leaving the window open also left us with a problem; serious noise! There are several bars across the street that, not just on weekends, are apparently open until 2:00 in the morning. Crowds from the bars spilled into the street; and we were forced to listen to loud arguments, loud conversations, and even one would-be singer who went on until after 3:00 in the morning! When my friend called the desk, the response she was given was something like, "What do yo want me to do... go out and tell them to be quiet?" Perhaps Inverness does not enforce any kind of noise ordinance. And, by the way, we did eventually choose to close the window and deal with the temperature; but we could still hear the noise VERY well. I have stayed in a Mercure Hotel before (in France); and I expected the same lovely experience, especially since this was the highest priced (by quite a bit) hotel of the six we stayed in during our four week tour!! Perhaps if the room had been on the other side (the side next to the river), it might have been a completely different experience. Disappointing!

One bath towel in room each night and a lot of noise from employees out back. Small parking lot with little space to maneuver. Good location for activities but better make reservations for dinner
