Didn't actually have a room for me
I spent exactly five minutes in the actual hotel before they told me that I didn't have a room. The hotel was overbooked (they have construction going on) and instead of sleeping in the room I had booked I would be staying in another hotel down the street where they had rebooked me. They claim they attempted to contact me but I have no record of any phone calls or emails. I did not appreciate having to deal with that after arriving from my overnight flight with a tired and cranky wife.

Very Good8.0
Although in a very convenient and historic spot, this hotel, which is undergoing renovation, has lots to be done to have the upgrades completed. Hopefully, all the interior hallways will be freshened up and it will be what it should be. The hallways need painting and look very run down. The reception area, bar, and breakfast room all looked fine. Hopefully the rest of the hotel will come up to par. The staff were very kind, helpful, friendly. The location couldn't be better for passengers using Gare du Nord for arrivals and departures or wanting to get to CDG by RER. It is also an excellent spot for access to transportation all over Paris on the metro or RER

This hotel is an excellent choice for making connections at Gare du Nord. Plenty of excellent sidewalk cafes to choose from close by.

Utilitarian, but not comfy.
I booked this hotel as it is right across the street of Gare du Norde and I wanted to use that station to get to Orly the next day. (I took the RER and the shuttle bus from the Denenfort stop. Easy.) The hotel is way past its prime, my room was quite small, even by European standards, with no travel comforts. And while perfectly clean, dinged and worn. No dinning room or bar, but lots of nearby brassieres within a block or so. I ordered room service; my order was a bit wrongly delivered but my main dish superb. The staff is extremely attentive. To enter, cross the street from the main entrance of the Nord station, and hunt and peck to the tiny entranceway to your left.
