Radisson Blu Royal Viking Hotel, Stockholm, Stockholm
close to central station
The shower was would change from lukewarm to cold throughout the shower. There was scaffolding outside our window and noise from construction. We were told all rooms were booked and to come back to the lobby the next morning to change rooms. It took some back and forth before we were finally in a new quiet room. The second room was amazing! It was modern and clean (we then learned the first room was an outdated room). The shower was abnormally small but the water remained hot in the second room. Their breakfast was good compared to other breakfasts I've had in Europe.

Just one night here before a train journey
I do love the Radisson Blu, it has a great mid-century feel to it. Very good service, excellent breakfast, and a great location next to the train station.

A-ok stay, surprisingly quiet.
As a big fan of the Radisson Blu brand, I was excited to check out this hotel. It was close to the Arlanda Express and Stockholm Centraal Station - so I was a bit concerned about train noise but I was pleasantly surprised to be not bothered by either one. Location is great even if you don't take the train. A short jaunt to Normmalm, Gamla Stan, and any of the ferries to the other stops in Stockholm. We had one dodgy incident over by the McDonalds across the street, but other than that it was really safe. The hotel's Skybar had great views, and our room was on the same floor, but again the noise - if there was any - did not bother us. Our room faced the courtyard, so the room view was not romantic in any way and it was rather dark, but the room was comfortable though small - especially the bathroom and lack of closet space for two people. This was perhaps among my least favorite of the Radisson Blu hotels I've stayed in, but it was not a bad experience, I just hold that hotel chain to a higher standard.

Ideal location!
Hotel location was ideal for transportation. Right next to Central Station, and walking distance to many attractions.

Not up to Radisson standards!
Very slow in checking in. Booked a Superior Room for 3 night ($222 per night) for pre-cruise. Was given a small pre-renovated (not yet finished) room with no AC, safe not working & dusty everywhere. After complaining was switched to another "better" room with AC in the bedroom only. No AC and TV did not working (not yet hooked up) in the sitting room. Again, dusts everywhere. Not enough lighting in the room making it impossible to do any reading after dark. 2 main elevators were down due to renovation. Not enough electric outlets. Paid breakfast buffet was mediocre at best. Warm food was lukewarm. No instructions to operate the overhead shower. Shower stall with tiny doors smaller than those on the cruise ship.Very difficult to get in and out without smashing into the doors.
