Nice although noisy.
Can't recommend for business travel but a good choice for adults' special occasion trip or escape. Small room but space utilized efficiently and attractively decorated. Relatively large closet and the robes were a thoughtful touch. Some negatives - a mattress that had definitely seen better days and an awkward shower with low water pressure. Main problem was noise - at least for a room centrally located above main floor lobby as loud lobby events including tea followed by the lobby bar go on to after 8 pm. Attempts to do a business teleconference or take a quick nap in the room would be futile. Even hard-core sleep hours were a problem between doors slammed by guests and housekeeping vacuuming at 4:30 am! There really needs to be more sound buffer between the door to the hallway and the bedroom part of the room. I am typically a sound sleeper but gave up on getting a good night's sleep. I bought a package that included what I thought was a breakfast/restaurant credit in any of the restaurants but turned out to be limited to only the tiny walk-in coffee shop. It was difficult for one person to utilize the daily credit amount at the coffee shop although it turned out to be a nice experience.

Brown Palace!
We were there for New Year's Eve so it was fun even though we were in the room about 8 hours.

An amazing experience “ so Denver “
Amazing staff. Amazing history amazing hotel. Cleanliness could have been a bit better. There were a lot of cobwebs in common areas.

A true classic!
The Brown is a very special hotel, a classic. It is worth a visit. It is expensive, the extras mostly, but in today's world high prices supports a level of exclusivity, i.e., one would not want the hotel to be overrun by hordes of foot traffic. Whether this is right or wrong is not for me to say. Con: I do not like to pay for wi-fi. A hotel of the stature of the Brown should understand that nickel and diming people is just not in good taste. I bristle at nickel and diming, especially after paying the going tariff for a room. Also, the phone system is abominable. They must changeout their phones for modern simple intuitive phones so calling around the hotel is fully intuitive. I kept pushing buttons for various hotel services, but could only get to offices by pressing "O." What? And at least one free movie channel would be appreciated. That is not asking too much. (if there is a free movie channel, then I withdraw this statement). If I travel to Denver again, and I will, I might stay at another high end hotel to compare. But returning to the Brown would always be an option too. It is a delightful hotel with magnificent appointments from another age.
