Avenidas Novas, to the north of Lisbon city center, is a popular location for first-time visitors thanks to its wealth of affordable, well-appointed hotels. The “new avenues” district gets its name from the meeting point of several of the city’s magnificent avenues, notably Avenida de Roma, where many fine mansions are still preserved.
The Gulbenkian Museum houses the priceless collection of Armenian oil magnate Calouste Gulbenkian, comprising significant pieces from all corners of the world and many different centuries and cultures. Masterpieces from the French Impressionists and a unique collection of Lalique jewelry are among the highlights.

I needed assistance booking emergency next day flights. A service desk person helped me thru the process. The room was very clean. The room service was overpriced. I was ill, and needed a very basic breakfast: a cup of tea, two boiled eggs, dry toast, water: $34??

I stayed for a week in Lisbon and I had an amazing experience at the hotel. The room was very nice, clean and even though it's close to the airport, the windows completely block out the noise. I didn't hear anything. The staff is amazing! Very professional, welcoming and helpful. You can tell they care. I also like the fact that there are taxis outside at any time of the day so I didn't have to worry about booking a taxi or get late to my meetings. I highly recommend this hotel if you stay in that area of Lisbon.

It is very close to the university and convenient for attending conference. The furnitures and facility in the room are a bit old and before we changed our room, the toilet flush button broke. The shower water was not flowing abundantly and fluently enough. The offering of toiletries were not of 4star hotel standard. The best part of the whole week stay there was their breakfast. Very good!

GOOD: All staff, very kind and wanted to be helpful. Excellent breakfast buffet! Comfortable beds! Be sure to checkout the gift shop, reasonably priced (especially for a hotel) and variety of fun gifts! Did I mention the excellent service and breakfast!!!! NOT Good: No kettle for coffee in rooms. No hair shampoo or conditioner. They offer adapter plugs by request, but there are not many plugs to use in room. Though it is not a standard in Europe yet, a USB charging console would be very helpful!
