Beautiful hotel walking distance to Sea World
We stayed two nights as a weekend getaway for my husband's birthday. The hotel is beautiful with a large atrium, waterfall, restaurants and bars. Lots of nice seating areas to sit and read a book. We did have a couple of complaints. Expedia quoted a $25/night resort fee, which was supposed to cover self parking, wifi, shuttle service, etc. However, when we arrived, we were charged $24/day for parking and another $25/night for the resort fee. That's an additional $49/night that was just tacked on. The resort fee is a rip off because you have to book the shuttle early the day before you need it, so by the time we arrived on Friday, we couldn't book it for Saturday anyway. My other complaint was the housekeeping service. We left the room for an hour on Saturday morning, to get breakfast and give housekeeping a chance to come in. They didn't. We then went out for three hours (noon-3 p.m.), and they still didn't clean the room. We finally called the desk at 3:45 and said we were heading out for an hour and could someone come clean the room. The clerk said she would send someone right up. She didn't. We were out an hour and the cleaner was just arriving as we returned. We sent her away and asked her to come back when we left for dinner at 5:30. She did, so the room was finally cleaned that evening. That's ridiciously slow service for a hotel of this cost and caliber. Otherwise, we found the hotel to be lovely.

Great Hotel...a bit pricey.
Hotel was great, but a bit expensive. We've stayed at Universal, Disney and I-Drive properties, and the Renaissance was mostly higher in food/drink prices. $20 for breakfast! Drinks were a minimum of $10 for a beer and up to $20 for a mixed drink. Parking is $28 and there is still a $30something resort fee that pretty much only includes water in the room. Other than that the room was good. Comfy beds...larger than normal area...pool area is nice, but a little small. There is a kids area around the backside of the pool that you wouldn't know was there unless you knew to look for it. Best benefit was that it is across the street from Sea World (the reason we stayed there). Nice 5-10 minute walk through the parking lot to SW. Went to the Electric Ocean Party with the kids and it was awesome! There are a lot of nice hotels here in Orlando, so it pays to look around and find a good deal. Not sure if we would stay here again...still deciding.

Exceptional 10.0
Beautiful hotel and family friendly
We had an EXCELLENT stay from beginning to end. We arrived about 10:30am and asked about check in and were given a room right away! It was beautiful and overlooked the atrium. The server by the pool was so sweet and friendly, as was the bartender when my hubby got a drink and "happy hour" appetizer. We did not eat dinner on property. A few minutes before 10pm, we were at the pool and the kids wanted ice cream. We didnt realize that the ice cream shop, Toppers closed at 10pm. We arrived at 10:03pm, lights were off and my 12 year old who was a short distance in front of us was talking to the girl behind the counter. She told my daughter they were closed but as long as we didn't mind it not looking "pretty" she would make us what we wanted....There were 5 of us. Lastly, in the morning we went downstairs for the buffet. BEST BUFFET EVER. Made to order omelets and everything was so fresh. Our server was AMAZING. I believe his name was Rey. He was so attentive & the BEST server I've ever had and this was a buffet! He went above and beyond. There was a $25 hotel fee, BUT we got a $25 resort credit through Expedia. So that washed that out. The hotel fee included free WiFi so we didn't pay the $18 fee. Also it included 2 free kids buffets. We had 3 kids and since one was 3, they didn't charge us for hers. The ONLY charge I find strange is the parking is $22 and the valet $36 but considering it's across from See world is probably in place to keep just anyone from parking in their lot.

The location was perfect to all the theme parks especially: SeaWorld, Aquatica and Discovery Cove (which we loved loved loved). We simply walked across the street to SeaWorld. That was awesome! The resort was very very nice. Beds were super comfy and we usually have trouble sleeping. Loved the pool/hot tubs and outdoor lawn games were a highlight. :) Didn't get to take advantage of the movies shown on property but would have if we hadn't been park hopping so much. The staff was super friendly and helpful, especially at the Navigator desk. One small complaint: our room didn't get cleaned once because we left the room around 12:30pm....but I later learned I could ask for a specific time to have the room cleaned so we wouldn't miss the maid again. This was helpful. I do have one suggestion: that there be a sign that we could hang on the door when we leave our room late morning/early afternoon that says please service. All in all, despite daily torrential downpours all week....we had a great family vacation..... and we would definitely stay here again. :) 2 Thumbs up!

Outrageous Extra fees
I was quite unhappy with the charges added onto our bill for this hotel. We paid a resort fee of $25 per day which included very annoying wifi that you have to sign into every time you use your phone. Two bottles of water that we never recover on the second day. The parking is $22 PER DAY! We were there for a convention and they discounted parking but because I didn’t book hrough the hotel they would not honor the convention parking price of $11. The elevators are very slow and it was quite inconvenient to get to our room. One was broken on “our side” of the hotel and it was often so packed you had to wait several times to get in an elevator. The two restaurants that we went too all served the same VERY expensive food. It was pretty good, but extremely pricy for basic food. Drinks were also very expensive. The beds were so hard and uncomfortable. The room was quite large and clean. The fridge was broken and didn’t hold drinks on the door and wasn’t large enough to put most things in. I don’t think I would stay here again. The fees were outrageous and added and additional 100 to our two night stay so be weary if you are booking this hotel and account for $22 parking per car and $25 resort fee on top of your total price per day!
