Had a great stay in the newly remodeled room even though the hotel is still under renovations with no bar or dining.

Poor 2.0
Disgusting remodeling mess, reeks of carpet glue!
Horrible horrible experience. No parking, you HAVE to valet. No restaurant, no snack station at front, Everything is torn up and it is named Doubletree on all the maps but this name when you book. Parking is $40 overnight. There is construction everywhere. It’s dirty and smells of carpet glue. I got such a horrible headache I was ready to leave after 10 minutes but I had already paid $350 and it was non-refundable. The furnishings look like cheap dorm room. No decent lighting. I had to use a flashlight to get all my stuff when I left at 6 am. On the wall the “art” is a 4 foot picture of a black lady in Mod Squad clothes staring down at you. It’s huge and very disturbing to have a huge picture of someone staring at you in front of the bed. Not because she is black but because I don’T want a picture of anyone staring at me while I sleep! The bed was hard and uncomfortable,The toilet paper kept falling off the handle because they installed it backwards. There is about an inch gap between the bottom of the door and the floor so there is absolutely NO privacy. The bathroom door is a barn door that doesn’t lock. Oh and the “fridge” was a drawer that never got anything cold.DON’T STAY HERE! Unless you’re going to the Allen Center in the morning and want a horrible experience stay far away! When I left I asked for a receipt for business travel. They gave me a sheet of printout with “Amount owed: $0. That’s it. I said I needed something more. She said that’s all they could give.

Parking was two streets down, no coke or snack machine, no pool, no washer/dryer, no fitness room. It has the facade of a big hotel but the amenities do not exist.

Very Good 8.0
Comfortable work in progress
I must have missed the fine print during booking that my conference was part of the soft-opening for this hotel and no amenities would be available (dining, fitness center, wifi & tv were hit/miss, etc) as renovations are still being completed. Regardless, the room was spacious and comfortable. Loved the style and decor, this will be a fabulous hotel once renovations are complete.

A "fake it 'til ya make it" hotel
Honestly, this place has a lot of promise, but it appears as though they have a way to go. They're a valet-only hotel; however, the valet service was pretty terrible. It took us an hour to get our car during check-out. The hotel appears to be under construction still, understaffed, and they look mismanaged. The check-in/check-out process was very unorganized. The rooms are nice, so that's a plus.
