Great stay!
Fantastic room! It was bigger than I thought it would be. The bathroom was fantastic as well. Couldn't hear a lot of noise except through the door, but the hotel and surrounding area (residential) was generally quiet. There are some local restaurants serving cheap food in the area, and there was a coin-operated laundromat (Andy's Laundromat) just 5 minutes walk away, so our stay was great. Housekeeping was efficient, breakfast staff were friendly (coffee a bit weak, but we only found good coffee once in the entire time we were in Prague at Cafe Ebel [stumbled on it as we didn't set out to search for any good cafes]), and we would definitely return to the hotel if we ever return to Prague!

Very nice hotel
This hotel is a very nice, small hotel in a great neighborhood. It is walking distance to central Prague and has several excellent restaurants nearby. There are also several local markets for whatever you need. The staff are friendly and helpful and make you feel welcome.

a great find in Prague for all your toor needs.
This hotel is in a residential neighborhood very close to the city center by walking about 15 minutes or by taking the subway one stop or more. It is extremely convenient as a five minute walk to the subway will take you either to the modern shopping area, call the museum, or the entrance to Old Town or the Charles Bridge or the other side of the Charles Bridge and the castle. You're also close to another subway that will take you from the bus station or train station you will normally use the green line for all your tourism, or the red line at pavlova to come in by bus or train. Where it is a short walk. The staff is extremely friendly, and helpful, the breakfast is included, and it is fantastic. There is a coffee and tea in the room. While the single room was extremely small, it was very comfortable and clean and air conditioned which is very important. The value for money was exceptional and I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

BED BUGS at Hotel Ametyst -- Be warned
I’ll try to describe the nightmare I experienced at Hotel Ametyst justly. Firstly, DO NOT stay here, they have bed bugs and don’t take the safety of their visitors seriously. Before I fell asleep, I saw one bug crawling on my comforter. Later I saw more and coming out of the pillows and bed. Upon closer inspection I realized they were bed bugs. We were extremely frightened, not knowing how much of our stuff had been contaminated. We immediately went down to the front desk; they were unapologetic and adamant that their rooms were clean although we had brought them physical proof. They gave us a new room but at that point being paranoid and skeptical about the hotel's cleanliness we were unable to sleep at all. We threw away any clothes we wore that day. Later, the front desk told us that they were 'cleaning the room', which I highly doubt was an exterminator. We had a terrible time in Prague as a result since we spent the next day sleeping and having to do laundry. A few days later, the bites appeared and I had a serious infection that required antibiotics. After weeks of corresponding with the manager, they refused to give me just a refund for that night, not even asking for compensation for a ruined vacation and all the belongings we had to throw out. They are adamant that they hold cleanliness to the highest regard. I've given up. Please, for your sake, stay away from this terrible hotel and spare yourselves having to deal with such unconscionable staff.
