San Diego lives up to Blue Cities.
If you get there at sundown you cannot see the valet stand. At fifty dollars a night it is pricy for downtown San Diego. Close by parking makes the fifty dollars seem like a deal because the structure across the street does not have overnight parking and the big one up the street is an unwashed toilet bowl. The hotel is designed for out of town travelers without transportation. While the walk around is now tent free, the meth-heads still roam the area too frequently. Old town is great on a Saturday, Tuesday night it is a bit sketchy. The hotel was nice. The rooms were top notch. Ice was a Carmen Sandiego game but walking the hotel was a pleasure.

Downtown San Diego
Nice well maintained hotel. Clean. Small room. We were expecting a refrigerator in the room as advertised but there wasn't. We also booked a city view room but didn't get that either. Great location for walking. Overall good but a little expensive especially with $50 parking. I would stay again.

Beautiful Hotel... service not so good.
The hotel itself is wonderful. Really enjoyed the atmosphere. The hotel staff were not overly friendly. The restaurant/bar attached to hotel was really nice, comfortable, convenient and the atmosphere and entertainment very good. Really enjoyed it. However, the service was absolutely terrible. The menu was quite limited.... and nothing available! We tried to have dinner, but the main items were not available on a Saturday night. I would definitely stay at this hotel again but come with low expectations for service, and definitely not plan to have dinner there.

Small rooms, but comfortable
We were just here for one night, so didn’t have much time to get to know this hotel. But the people at the reception desk were very very friendly and helpful. The room we were in was small, but adequate, although the bathroom was very small. It is an older hotel, but it was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. We were in San Diego for a specific event, so we didn’t have time to explore the immediate area around the hotel but there seem to be a lot of interesting restaurants and cafés.
