Hotel was amazing now struggling
Starting with positives I’ve been staying this hotel for many years, last time just before Covid and it’s was always one of my favourites, it’s querky, great location close to air port 25 euro taxi and the tram station is very close. The breakfast used to be amazing it’s now still very good. The beds are high off the floor and very comfortable to my taste. The sauna complex is very good if you don’t mind non textiles. Unfortunately the hotel feels like it’s is suffering from staff shortages and hasn’t fully recovered
From Covid lockdowns, the communal areas are looking very tired. We arrived 7 pm and told there was no food available no room service and bars/ cafes closed on restricted opening hours. (The hotel complex is isolated). They have removed the room phones so you have to go to reception to report any faults- only one lift was working and usually a Q at reception,so trying to get clean towels and a working TV remote took forever to sort. WiFi is very poor. We discovered the TV no longer has movies or English channels. The hotel complex is large and open to general public so the hotel securityisnonexistent. My wife didn’t feel completely safe walking around in the evening. From930to1030they started testing the fire byplaying loud music from the in room and corridor speakers. I do appreciate these are “first world” problems the hotel like many others is playing an important role in hosting people from warn torn areas - I hope for everyone’s sake the situation improves.
