Very Inconvenient for driving; shabby rooms
Real problem is parking and access tot eh hotel. There is no way to drive up and check in or drop off luggage. GPS tries to take you to a pedestrianized street behind the hotel, which has no entrance anyway. Following GPS takes you through a maze of Tram/Taxi only lanes in which you will get a CC'TV ticket for driving through. Off site parking is about 10 min walk away, but is not identified by name on the hotel description. Would be better to list that location so customers can go park and walk tot eh hotel to check in without risking a ticket. Room was not what is pictured, though I was told by a friend that those rooms do exist. Room was 1970's shabby, but clean. Hard bed, grungy bathroom. As a gold member it says we may get free upgrades if rooms are unsold, however instead I got an email from the hotel telling me there were unsold rooms and offering an upgrade at a fee. Given the broad range of hotels of better quality and easier access in Edinburgh, I would not choose this hotel again. Friends travelling with us who recommended this hotel, based on a good past experience and better room, had a similar bad experience this time.

Ideal location but more a 3 star hotel for young p
Shabby room, sofa was dirty and frayed and the cold tap on the bath was rusted and didn't work. Room next door had an ok bath as we heard them having a bath 11pm. We could hear what the neighbours were doing and kept awake all hours with the doors slamming throughout the night with the groups of young people around us. Not up to the Accor statand at all. Very disappointed.

Excellent!
From check-in to check-out, service was great. I had to change rooms late after a huge leak from the upstairs bathroom, but this was dealt with swiftly. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were comfortable, well designed and spacious.
