Disney's Contemporary Resort, Lake Buena Vista

Was able to get into room 7 hours early by checking in online. Very quiet room despite being one floor above the monorail. Comfortable beds. 10 minute walk to Magic Kingdom.

Hotel is pretty run down for the amount of money they charge. The whole notion of paying ridiculous premiums to be on a Disney property continues to baffle me. This is a 3-star property at best, nothing has been refreshed in years, and feels old and drab. Service is average, the food offerings are awful for the price and amenities not adequately maintained. If this was a Motel 6 and I was paying Motel 6 prices on the side of the interstate, I would probably give this place a much better review, but given how it's priced and advertised as one of the premier resorts for Disney World, the quality and condition of the lodging is absolutely awful. The room was on the small side, carpet dirty and sticky, sheets reeked of bleach, bathroom had a cheap tub liner covering up whatever mess was underneath, AC incredibly noisy, furniture worn and tired. Just not a good experience overall.

The service was pretty bad for what we paid. 1. Room service for dining took forever to bring food. We had to call 2-3 times to get anyone on the phone and then to be transferred to private dining. We called for a Diet Coke after and they said it would be 35 min just to get the drink. 2. We accidentally spilt formula on the sheets and I called to have someone change it out. No one came all day. I had to call again to get any service. 3. The fridge in the room was not working and spoiled all my breast milk and formula. I had to call three times just to get someone to come replace it. They kept saying someone has been dispatched. No one came til the third call. 4. The food in room service was just so bland. Not many options. I was really disappointed. My first time at Disney we stayed in Disney for the experience and at the contemporary for the five star service but that was not the case. I will not be returning to that hotel.

It was great in all respects but the light/music show at 10:30PM was ridiculous. My kids couldn’t fall asleep and I’m sure they weren’t the only ones. Plz schedule it for 3 hours earlier.

It's an old hotel and well kept given its age. Definitely not worth the $400+ a night being charged even if the monorail goes right to it. Room service was unresponsive as well. Had me on hold for over 2 minutes so I hung up. Definitely not a value worth considering given there are much better hotels within the park at substantially lower prices and MUCH better service and comfort.
